Happenings at WAAFT Central
Founders Meeting: We had our first online founder’s meeting on February 8, 2015 via Skype. This is a meeting for people across the globe who have started or who want to start new A.A. groups for agnostics, atheists, and freethinkers. This is a great place to share the joys and challenges of starting an AA group. The next meeting will be March 29th at 2pm PST/4PM CST/8PM EST. In order to attend you need to have a Skype account and add wAAft.Central as a contact.
Toll free Number: We have a toll free number paid for and staffed by volunteers to help people who have questions about agnostic A.A. meetings, who want to start an A.A. meeting, need a sponsor, or simply wish to speak with another alcoholic. If you have a website for your group, you can add this number to your site, and we will act as your answering service and pass on any messages. Try it out for yourself at 844-359-2238. If you would like to volunteer to staff the WAAFT help line, let us know by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
WAAFT Forum: Our dedicated volunteers created a forum for those interested in learning about secular A.A. meetings. This is totally experimental, but the hope is that it will bring more people into our community. It’s a place for people with questions about agnostic AA meetings. There’s no barrier to join the forum, anyone can sign up, so it could be a wild place. We will need volunteers to help staff and promote it, so please give us a call at 844-359-2238 or email us at email@example.com if you can help.
Women’s Group: We created a secret Facebook Group for women WAAFTs. This is a valued resource for building community and finding support. This is a totally private group, nobody will see your posts except for other members of the group. If you would like to join, just give us a call at 844-359-2238 or shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Many of you belong to the WAAFT Coffee Shop, a secret Facebook group created by volunteers after WAFTIAAC 2014 as a way to keep in touch until the next convention. We are new at running a Facebook Group and we’ve hit a few snags, but overall it’s been a lot of fun and we are getting to know each other as we share ideas and laughs. This is a totally private group, nobody will see your posts except for other members of the group. If you would like to join the Coffee Shop or if you would like to help out, please give us a call at 844-359-2238 or email us at email@example.com
